Frequently asked questions

Where do you hold your clinic?

paget.picture

At East Point Consulting Rooms, James Paget Hospital, Lowestoft road, NR31 6LA

How much is a consultation?

All my initial consultations are an hour long and cost £200. This allows for a full and unhurried consultation and includes a letter to you and your General Practitioner documenting my findings together with a treatment and investigation plan. Blood tests and other investigations are extra. If you are insured you may well need pre-authorisation to see me. I am registered with all the major insurance companies.

Do I need a referral?

No. But often it is helpful as it will fill me in with your medical history and allows me to plan essential investigations before the appointment. Investigations done by your GP need not be repeated, saving you money.

How much are blood tests or investigations?

If you are insured this is something that you do not need to worry about. If you are self paying then blood tests are expensive. Most of the basic grouped blood tests eg Full blood count, urea and electrolytes, bone profile, liver function tests are £66 each and each single blood tests are £33 each. You can see that a basic panel of blood tests can quickly mount up. Blood tests are the lynch pin of modern medicine and it is unlikely we are going to get to a get to a diagnosis without them. If you are on a budget then please let me know and I can give you an estimated cost of investigation and treatment.
